Consistently attracting clients or customers seems to be one of the most searched topics on the internet. Small Business owners are all looking for this magic formula for success. Truth be told, there really isn’t one. All it takes is good old fashion strategizing. Here are some tips that will help you get started.
Give the Milk For Free
I remember as I child I heard the phrase “If you give them the milk for free why would they buy the cow”. I’m sure most of you have heard this before but maybe not in relation to business. I have to disagree in this instance. Give your prospects something of great value for FREE. Yeah, you definitely heard me right. Give something away that actually helps them. Now I’m not telling you to offer them the farm, but give them a taste of what you have to offer. Believe me, if it’s good enough, they’ll come back and they’ll pay for it.
Find Out Where Your Prospects Hang
Once you’ve narrowed down your actual target market; take some time to see where they’re hanging out. Find out what forums they frequently visit or even organizations they’ve joined. You should be connecting with them often in places they feel comfortable, in places they go for help. Remember to be sincere in all of your communications. The goal is to help them not hassle them for sales every chance you get.
Tracking Your Results
Often business owners are guilty of trying various marketing strategies and not properly tracking them. Each type of marketing campaign done should be tracked. Take a look at the results and see what’s gotten you the best feedback. Many times a few adjustments can make an okay campaign “great”. But if you’re not monitoring your progress, you may be cutting off the one thing that’s working for your business.
Keeping In Touch
One of the easiest ways to bring in new business is through referrals. Keeping in touch with your current or past clients should always stay at the top of your to do list. This can be done through a regular e-newsletter or direct mail offerings. Having a satisfied client refer your business is almost a given sale.
These are just a few tips for creating a steady stream of income for your business. You have to do them well and often if you want consistent results. Set aside a few hours every week to just focus on marketing your business. Even if your income is exactly where you want it to be, you should always be marketing. Don’t wait until you desperately need the business.
